Creepypasta pony town ideas6/24/2023 ![]() Other Slender Man-themed YouTube serials followed, including EverymanHYBRID and TribeTwelve. As of 2013, Marble Hornets had over 250,000 subscribers around the world and had received 55 million views. The ARG also incorporates a Twitter feed and an alternate YouTube channel created by a user named "totheark". The video series, published in found footage style on YouTube, forms an alternate reality game describing the filmers' fictional experiences with the Slender Man. It tells of a fictional film school friend named Alex Kralie, who had stumbled upon something troubling while shooting his first feature-length project, Marble Hornets. : 36 The first video series involving the Slender Man evolved from a post on the Something Awful thread by user "ce gars". One of the earliest additions was added by a forum user named "Thoreau-Up", who created a folklore story set in 16th-century Germany involving a character called Der Großman, which was implied to be an early reference to the Slender Man. Many aspects of the Slender Man mythos first appeared on the original Something Awful thread. Divorced from its original creator, the Slender Man became the subject of myriad stories by multiple authors within an overarching mythos. The Slender Man soon went viral, spawning numerous works of fanart, cosplay, and online fiction known as " creepypasta"-horror stories told in short snatches of easily copyable text that spread from site to site. Like fairies, the Slender Man is otherworldly, with motives that are often difficult to grasp like fairies, his appearance is vague and often shifts to reflect what the viewer wants or fears to see, and, like fairies, the Slender Man lives in the woods and wild places and kidnaps children. In her book, Folklore, Horror Stories, and the Slender Man: The Development of an Internet Mythology, Professor Shira Chess of the University of Georgia connected the Slender Man to ancient folklore about fairies. Knudsen's intention was "to formulate something whose motivations can barely be comprehended, and unease and terror in a general population." Other pre-existing fictional or legendary creatures which are similar to the Slender Man include: the Gentlemen, black-suited, pale, bald demons from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode " Hush" men in black, many accounts of which grant them an uncanny appearance with an unnatural walk and "oriental" features and The Question, a DC Comics superhero with a blank face, whose secret identity is "Victor Sage", a name similar to Knudsen's alias "Victor Surge". Burroughs, and the survival horror video games Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Lovecraft, the surrealist work of William S. Other inspirations for the character were the Tall Man from the 1979 film Phantasm, H. Knudsen was inspired to create the Slender Man primarily by Zack Parsons' "That Insidious Beast", Stephen King's The Mist, reports of shadow people, Mothman and the Mad Gasser of Mattoon. Subsequent posters expanded upon the character, adding their own visual or textual contributions. These additions effectively transformed the photographs into a work of fiction. 1986, photographer: Mary Thomas, missing since June 13th, 1986. The stabbing inspired the documentary Beware the Slenderman, which was released in 2016. He has also appeared in a 2015 film adaptation of Marble Hornets, where he was portrayed by Doug Jones, and an eponymous 2018 film, where he was portrayed by Javier Botet.īeginning in 2014, a moral panic occurred over the Slender Man after readers of his fiction were connected to several violent acts, particularly a near-fatal stabbing of a 12-year-old girl in Waukesha, Wisconsin. ![]() The character has appeared in the video game Slender: The Eight Pages (2012) and its successor Slender: The Arrival (2013), as well as inspiring the Enderman in Minecraft. Fiction relating to the Slender Man encompasses many media, including literature, art and video series such as Marble Hornets (2009–2014), wherein he is known as The Operator. The Slender Man has become a pop culture icon, although he is not confined to a single narrative but appears in many disparate works of fiction, typically composed online. Stories of the Slender Man commonly feature his stalking, abducting, or traumatizing people, particularly children. He is depicted as a thin, unnaturally tall humanoid with a featureless white head and face, wearing a black suit. The Slender Man (also spelled Slenderman) is a fictional supernatural character that originated as a creepypasta Internet meme created by Something Awful forum user Eric Knudsen (also known as "Victor Surge") in 2009. ![]()

Lastpass passwords6/23/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() To be able to access the data saved in those buckets, the hackers needed decryption keys saved in "highly restricted set of shared folders in a LastPass password manager vault." That's why the bad actors targeted one of the four DevOps engineers who had access to the keys needed to unlock the company's cloud storage. It also admitted that the hackers made off with a bunch of sensitive information, including its Amazon S3 buckets. When the company announced the second security breach in December, it said the bad actors used information obtained from the first incident to get into its cloud service. While the first incident ended on August 12th, the company said in its new announcement that the threat actors were "actively engaged in a new series of reconnaissance, enumeration, and exfiltration activities aligned to the cloud storage environment spanning from August 12th, 2022 to October 26th, 2022." If you'll recall, LastPass revealed in August 2022 that an "unauthorized party" gained entry into its system. This latest update in LastPass' investigation gives us a clearer picture of how the two security breach incidents it went through last year were connected. After they got in, they exported the vault's entries and shared folders that contained decryption keys needed to unlock cloud-based Amazon S3 buckets with customer vault backups. ![]() They implanted a keylogger into the software, which they then used to capture the engineer's master password for an account with access to the LastPass corporate vault. LastPass has posted an update on its investigation regarding a couple of security incidents that took place last year, and they're sounding graver than previously thought. ![]()

Humble pie video6/23/2023 ![]() Jim Stapley is a hugely talented singer and guitarist. “A lot of fans never got to see the original band so, as a new incarnation, we are carrying on the legacy, seeing the joy it brings, which is an honor. Having joined Humble Pie with Jerry, Greg Ridley, and Bobby Tench in 2000, I knew first-hand the effect the band’s music has on an audience. Most of the songs played that day are on the Rockin’ the Fillmore album and represent the most powerful, soulful, rock’n’roll Pie tracks. That concert changed my life as far as influencing what I wanted to do. Says Colwell of his early memories of the band: “I had read about this supergroup in Melody Maker and went to see them in Hyde Park London on July 3, 1971. My goal is to keep the legacy of Humble Pie intact as one of the greatest live acts in rock, while satiating the need for generations of our beloved fans to again enjoy our music performed live by world-class musicians.” It goes without saying that no one will ever replace Steve, Peter, or any member of the band. “We all have a great sense of love and pride for Humble Pie,” says Shirley, now 71, “and that includes the original members, their families, and what we were able to achieve. Their much-vaunted 1971 live album Performance: Rockin’ the Fillmore and 1972’s commercial breakthrough Smokin’ are cornerstones of classic rock to this day, and a defining influence on bands from Aerosmith to Van Halen, from Quiet Riot to the Black Crowes and on to Rival Sons, Dirty Honey, and more. ![]() ![]() The tour will celebrate Humble Pie’s place in the vanguard of organic, hard-hitting blues-rock of the early 1970s. But I’ll tear my lungs out giving it a shot…the songs deserve it, the band deserves it, and everyone one who has come to love the music of Humble Pie, but never got to see them live, deserve it too…so, no pressure…(gulp).” I can’t even attempt to fill those boots, no one can. “It’s not lost on me that the center spot on stage has a huge hole in it, where Steve Marriottonce stood. ![]()

Northeast doppler radar 1800 mile6/23/2023 ![]() ![]() The two cultural and geographic regions that form parts of the Northeastern region have distinct histories. states making up the Northeastern region were among the original Thirteen Colonies, though Maine and Vermont were part of other colonies before the United States became independent in the American Revolution. Penn's Treaty with the Indians, a 1772 painting by Benjamin WestĪll of the U.S. For the most part, the people of the Northeastern Woodlands, on whose lands European fishermen began camping to dry their codfish in the early 1600s, lived in villages, especially after being influenced by the agricultural traditions of the Ohio and Mississippi valley societies. In the United States of the 21st century, 18 federally recognized tribes reside in the Northeast. Īmong the many tribes that inhabited this area were those that made up the Iroquois nations and the numerous Algonquian peoples. The cultural area, known as the " Northeastern Woodlands", in addition to covering the entire Northeast U.S., also covered much of what is now Canada and others regions of what is now the eastern United States. Most did not settle in North America until the 17th century. Main article: Indigenous peoples of the Northeastern WoodlandsĪnthropologists recognize the "Northeastern Woodlands" as one of the cultural regions that existed in the Western Hemisphere at the time of European colonists in the 15th and later centuries. Under the Census Bureau's definition, the Northeast has a total area of 181,324 sq mi (469,630 km 2), making it the smallest region of the United States by total area. It is also the densest populated region in the United States, with 320 people per square mile (120 people/km 2). The gross domestic product of the region was $5.1 trillion dollars as of 2022 and contains some of the most developed states based on the Human Development Index, with every state with the exception of Maine above the national average. The region is home to the Northeast megalopolis, which includes many of the nation's largest metropolitan areas, including Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia the megalopolis makes up 67% of the region's total population of 57,609,148. Some broader definitions also include Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C., and on rare occasions, West Virginia, and Virginia. states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The United States Census Bureau defines the region as including nine U.S. Census Bureau for the collection and analysis of statistics. The Northeast is one of the four regions defined by the U.S. It is located on the Atlantic coast of North America, with Canada to its north, the Southern United States to its south, and the Midwestern United States to its west. Since hail can cause the rainfall estimates to be higher than what is actually occurring, steps are taken to prevent these high dBZ values from being converted to rainfall. The Northeastern United States, also referred to as the Northeast, the East Coast, or the American Northeast, is a geographic region of the United States. Hail is a good reflector of energy and will return very high dBZ values. These values are estimates of the rainfall per hour, updated each volume scan, with rainfall accumulated over time. Depending on the type of weather occurring and the area of the U.S., forecasters use a set of rainrates which are associated to the dBZ values. The higher the dBZ, the stronger the rainrate. Typically, light rain is occurring when the dBZ value reaches 20. The scale of dBZ values is also related to the intensity of rainfall. The value of the dBZ depends upon the mode the radar is in at the time the image was created. Notice the color on each scale remains the same in both operational modes, only the values change. The other scale (near left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in precipitation mode (dBZ values from 5 to 75). One scale (far left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in clear air mode (dBZ values from -28 to +28). ![]() Each reflectivity image you see includes one of two color scales. The dBZ values increase as the strength of the signal returned to the radar increases. So, a more convenient number for calculations and comparison, a decibel (or logarithmic) scale (dBZ), is used. Reflectivity (designated by the letter Z) covers a wide range of signals (from very weak to very strong). "Reflectivity" is the amount of transmitted power returned to the radar receiver. The colors are the different echo intensities (reflectivity) measured in dBZ (decibels of Z) during each elevation scan. ![]()
